What Is a Dynasty Trade Calculator?
A dynasty trade calculator values a trade over several seasons instead of one. In a dynasty league you keep your roster from year to year, so a player is worth both what they score now and what they are likely to score later. That is why this calculator adds an age curve by position and treats rookie draft picks as real assets you can trade.
Add players and picks to Team A and Team B, set your league, and the dynasty trade analyzer tells you which side comes out ahead and by how much. Values are scored for your settings: 1QB or superflex, standard, half PPR or PPR, TE premium and league size.
How to Use the Dynasty Trade Calculator
- Search a player, or search 2027 1st to add a pick, and add it to Team A or Team B.
- Check the settings bar: Dynasty is already on. Set 1QB or superflex, scoring, TE premium and league size to match your league.
- Read the verdict: Fair trade (gap of 5% or less), Slight edge (5% to 15%) or a win for one side (more than 15%). Use Even it out to see what would close the gap.
- Copy the share link and send it to your leaguemate.

How Rookie Draft Picks Are Valued
A pick is worth roughly what the players taken with it turn out to be worth. To set the level, the model takes the last three rookie classes and, from each, the players who are worth the most today, one per team in your league. Their average value is what an average 1st-round pick is worth. From there, value falls along a smooth curve by overall pick number that halves every half round, so late picks keep a small positive value instead of dropping to zero. Slot values are then averaged into Early, Mid and Late for each round.
The curve follows a few fixed rules so the order always makes sense:
- Within a round, Early is worth at least as much as Mid, and Mid at least as much as Late.
- A late 1st is worth more than an early 2nd.
- A pick in the year after next is taken down by 10% compared with the same pick next year, because it is further away and less certain.
This year's rookies get a value floor from their NFL draft position. Once they play, they are worth the higher of that floor and the value of their own game stats, so a few quiet games early in the season don't erase a high draft pick.
Age Curves: Why Older Players Lose Value
Production at most positions fades with age, and it fades at different speeds. In dynasty, the model counts this season in full and then projects the next four seasons along an age curve for each position, counting each later season at 0.8 of the one before. Running backs lose value earliest, wide receivers and tight ends later, and quarterbacks last. Past the peak, projected output shrinks by the same share each year (about 14% a year for running backs after 26, 11% for wide receivers after 28 and tight ends after 29, 10% for quarterbacks after 32), so it eases down instead of dropping off a cliff.
That is why a running back and a quarterback with the same points per game can sit far apart in dynasty and close together in redraft. If you are rebuilding, the age factor pushes value toward younger players and picks; if you are contending, a trade that looks like a loss on paper can still help your lineup this season. The calculator shows the value gap, and the call on your team's timeline is yours.
1QB vs. Superflex Dynasty Trades
In a 1QB league, quarterbacks are plentiful and the replacement level is high, so only the top few carry big values. In superflex, a second quarterback can start, so far more of them are starters and the whole position moves up. A trade built around a quarterback can be fair in one format and lopsided in the other. Switch Lineup in the settings bar, or open the superflex trade calculator to start in that format.
Dynasty Trade Analyzer Limits
- There is no trade-market signal. Values come from game stats, age and draft slot, so they will differ from crowd-sourced dynasty values, most of all for young players with little production.
- Injuries and role changes are not modeled. A player's value reflects games already played.
- New rookies enter the data in the update after the NFL Draft at the end of April, which matters most during rookie draft season in April and May.

Dynasty Trade Calculator FAQ
How are rookie picks valued in dynasty?
The 1st round is anchored to what the most valuable players from the last three rookie classes are worth today. From there, value falls along a smooth curve by overall pick number, so every round keeps a positive value. Picks are split into Early, Mid and Late for each round, and picks for the year after next are taken down by 10%.
Is a 2-for-1 trade good in dynasty?
Only if the two pieces are close to the one you give up. The calculator discounts every piece below the top player in the deal, so two mid-level players rarely add up to one elite starter.
Why did a player's value drop after a birthday?
Dynasty values add this season in full to the next four seasons, projected along an age curve by position. After a peak age for each position projected output shrinks a little every year, faster for running backs and slower for quarterbacks. It changes smoothly with age, with no sudden drop at a birthday.
Does it support superflex and TE premium?
Yes. Switch Lineup to Superflex and pick a TE premium in the settings, and every value is recalculated. The superflex trade calculator page opens with superflex already on.
How often are dynasty values updated?
In the offseason we refresh at least monthly and again right after the NFL Draft, when new rookies enter the data. The date of the last update is shown above the calculator.
Why are these values different from other dynasty calculators?
Many dynasty calculators are built on crowd votes or trade data. These values come only from game statistics, your settings, age and draft slot, so they can rank young players with little production lower than market-based tools do.
Can I share this trade?
Yes. Click Copy share link to save the trade and your settings into a link you can send to your leaguemate or league chat.
